Asia Business and Service Innovation (ABSI) is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to advancing the understanding of business, management, and economic practices within the dynamic and diverse contexts of Asia and its global linkages. ABSI serves as a leading platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange ideas, disseminate innovative research, and explore the evolving challenges and opportunities shaping Asia’s role in the global economy.

The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, conceptual papers, case studies, and comprehensive reviews that contribute to theoretical advancement and practical knowledge across a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • International business and global strategy
  • Marketing, consumer behavior, and digital transformation
  • Tourism, hospitality, and service management
  • Finance, accounting, and investment
  • Innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology management

Editorial Policy & Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review to maintain academic integrity and quality. ABSI strictly follows COPE guidelines and accepts only original, unpublished work.

Authors should prepare manuscripts using the APA 7th Edition referencing style and the official ABSI template.

Guide for Authors


Asia Business and Service Innovation (ABSI) welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts that make significant contributions to business, management, and economics within the Asian context. Authors are encouraged to read the following guidelines carefully before submission.

1. Manuscript Preparation

Authors are required to use the official ABSI Manuscript Template (available for download on this website). This ensures a consistent and professional format across all published articles.

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5
  • Alignment: Justified, no modification to margins or layout
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) only — PDF submissions are not accepted
  • Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 4,000 - 7,000 words, including tables, figures, and references

2. Structure of the Paper

The manuscript should be organized as follows:

  1. Title of the Paper (max. 15 words)
  2. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  3. Abstract – Up to 200 words summarizing purpose, methods, major findings, and implications
  4. Keywords – 3–5 keywords in alphabetical order
  5. Main Sections
    • Introduction
    • Literature Review
    • Methodology
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  6. References – Follow APA 7th edition referencing style

3. Headings and Subheadings

Level 1 (Main Heading) Bold, 12 pt, Title Case
Level 2 (Subheading) Italic, 12 pt, Sentence case
Level 3 (Sub-subheading) Regular, 12 pt, Sentence case

4. Tables and Figures

  • Number tables and figures consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1)
  • Table titles appear above, figure captions appear below
  • Use Times New Roman, 11 pt, centered alignment
  • Each table and figure must be cited in the text

5. References

All references must strictly follow the APA 7th Edition style:

The reference list should be ordered alphabetically by the first author's surname, double-checked for accuracy, and use consistent punctuation and italicization.

6. Author Declarations

The following sections must appear after the main text and before the references:

Each section should follow the standardized examples given in the template.

7. Ethical Standards

ABSI follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. All submissions must ensure:

  • Originality and absence of plagiarism
  • Ethical approval for studies involving human or animal subjects
  • Proper disclosure of funding and conflict of interest

8. Submission Guidelines

  • Include the following files:
    • Completed manuscript (in ABSI template)
    • Cover letter (briefly summarizing contribution and fit to journal)
  • Author information should not appear in the manuscript file

9. Review and Publication Process

  1. Initial screening for formatting and scope compliance
  2. Double-blind peer review by two or more independent reviewers
  3. Revision phase (authors must use Track Changes and a separate response sheet)
  4. Final decision by the editorial board

Review Regulations

Asia Business and Service Innovation (ABSI) follows the highest standards of academic publishing ethics and editorial quality. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring that neither the authors nor the reviewers are aware of each other’s identities. Each manuscript is evaluated by a minimum of two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the topic.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished works that have not been submitted elsewhere. All articles are screened for plagiarism and research integrity before entering the review process. The journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and reserves the right to reject submissions that do not meet ethical or academic standards.

Research Ethics Regulations

ABSI upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and research ethics. All authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to follow these principles to ensure honesty, transparency, and professionalism in scholarly publishing.

1. General Principles

  • All submissions must be original works that have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Authors must ensure that their research is conducted and reported honestly and transparently.
  • Any case of fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or improper authorship will be treated as research misconduct.
  • The editorial board may take disciplinary action, including retraction of the article and notifying the author’s institution.

2. Authorship

  • Only individuals who made a significant contribution to the research should be listed as authors.
  • All co-authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.
  • The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring correct authorship, affiliations, and communication with the journal.
  • Acknowledgments may include people or institutions that provided funding, technical, or administrative support but do not meet authorship criteria.

3. Research Integrity

  • Research methods must be described clearly enough for replication by other scholars.
  • Data must not be fabricated or manipulated in any way.
  • All sources, quotations, and secondary data must be properly cited according to APA 7th standards.

4. Research Involving Humans

  • Studies involving human participants must protect privacy, dignity, and voluntary participation.
  • Participants must receive full information about the study and provide written consent.
  • Participants can withdraw at any time without penalty.
  • The editorial board may request proof of IRB approval or consent forms if necessary.

5. Review and Publication Ethics

  • Authors should respond to reviewers’ comments professionally and constructively.
  • If disagreeing with a reviewer, authors must provide a clear, evidence-based explanation.
  • Published papers are protected under ABSI copyright policy — any reuse or distribution requires permission.
